  • Since 2018, I have been managing a storytelling page named Under the Baobab Trees where I showcase cultural stories and innovative social projects from Africa.

My vision for YS

My vision for Young SIETAR is to reach a broader audience, diversify its activities across both academic and industry sectors, and raise awareness about intercultural communication among people from various backgrounds.

What I love about YS

I love the youthful spirit and the cultural diversity of Young SIETAR members.

One of my most amazing travel/intercultural experiences

I used to be a slow traveler in my 20s, spending one to six months in different countries. From 2014 to 2020, I took part in local volunteer projects focused on permaculture, elementary education, women’s empowerment, community-based tourism, and ecotherapy in 12 countries. These grounded experiences fueled my growing curiosity about interculturality, migration, sociology, and shaped a strong sense of purpose in working alongside marginalized populations.

I also spent a decent amount of time in East Africa, primarily in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania, while also traveling extensively across Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. I lived with local families and worked part-time with travel agencies, assisting in the organization of safari and mountaineering tours, as well as cultural visits to Maasai communities. This experience prompted deep reflection on postcolonial implications, intercultural relations, power dynamics, wildlife conservation, ethical travel, and ethnographic reflections.
